Baked Pork Chops and Apples
2 tbsp butter or margarine
6 pork chops
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
3/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
3/4 cup water
3 apples, cored and sliced crosswise
Melt butter in a large skillet. Add pork chops, 3 at a time and brown well on both sides. Remove chops from skillet. Add onion, rosemary, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes until onion is tender. Stir in water. Arrange pork chops and apple slices in a shallow baking dish. Add onion mixture.
Cover and bake in 350°F oven for 1 hour, until pork chops are tender.
Makes 6 servings.
